Kitchen Renovations Made Easy

Kitchen remodeling can be exhausting even for the most educated and organized home owner. For that reason alone, it’s important to have an experienced contractor that understands the choices you will have to sift through, as well as decisions you’ll be making. Montgomery County Contractors (MCC) has extensive expertise in renovating kitchens. So, when you need help making your decisions MCC will treat you like family and give you quality advice the same as if they were advising their grandma.

Main Decisions with Your Kitchen

Appliances

Stoves, microwaves, refrigerators, garbage disposals, and dishwashers are all part of your choices in a new kitchen. Your contractor has experience installing, removing and maintaining these appliances so ask them about your choices; what models they recommend or company’s have the best lifetime use. In fact, you may be surprised by what they recommend and what you learn from their experience renovating kitchens.

Demo

Some renovations require a full demo with sub floor and drywall removal, it’s important to realize this removes warped rotted materials. Double checking on electric and plumbing is important in an older home, therefore after the demo those issues would be accessed.  Additionally, adding new outlets, repositioning older outlets or replacing electric wiring is easier when drywall is removed.

Flooring

Today’s options for flooring are many and varied including but not limited to vinyl, wood, bamboo, tile, cork, and engineered products. MCC can give you recommendations for flooring products that will fit the renovation you are working on.

Lighting

Lighting can make or break the feel of a room. Not enough lighting and you are walking into a tomb, to much lighting, well you can never have to much lighting! That’s why we have a light switch. Choices will need to made about styling, whether a dimmer switch is needed, any additional lighting needed or just replacing what is already in the space. Lastly, changing out old standard lighting for LED lighting is a great way to modernize and cut electric costs, you get a win win!

Plumbing

Plumbing is oh so important with kitchen renovations; bad plumbing can wreak havoc in a new room. Leaky pipes or bad materials can ruin a new remodel. Ask questions, your contractor should be able to give you solid answers about the products being used and how they install them. MCC is confident in their plumbing abilities whether relocating pipes or just replacing a sink and faucet.

The bottom line is ask your contractor questions about your choices they will have some good feedback for you. Great communication equals a great and easy kitchen renovation.
